It's easy to be active in Casablanca. Just let yourself be carried away by the ambient dynamism whether your interest is for cultural or sporting activities.
The Villa des Arts is situated between the busy Mäarif quarter and the peaceful Arab League Park. It holds temporary exhibitions of the work of contemporary Moroccan artists. This elegant building has been successfully restored. It promotes the work of contemporary Moroccan artists and, through its exhibitions, has become a fully-fledged museum of modern art. The Jewish Museum of Casablanca, installed further south, illustrates the long history of Jewish community in Morocco and, particularly, in Casablanca. The recently reorganized museum exhibits collections of liturgical objects and traditional Jewish clothing. The interior of a synagogue has been recreated there too.
A large range of sports is available. Keen golfers will be thrilled by the choice of four golf courses: Anfa Royal Golf Club, Settat University Golf Club, Mohammedia (most holes face the sea) and Bouznika Bay (flood-lit at night!). All nautical sports, especially surfing and sailing, can be practised. Casablanca is the biggest port for cruise ships in the country. In Benslimane, you will be able to choose between go-karting in Village Go Kart and hunting in the Ziaïda cork oak forest. You can have pleasant walks in the scenic El Maleh oued, near Mohammedia, where there are woods and fine waterfalls.
Casablanca offers many possibilities for exercising your brain and your body especially by practising 'select' sports.
