From Shakespeare's Othello to Sir Winston Churchill's memoirs and paintings, Morocco has been inspiring British culture for centuries. Now, this enchanted country is heading for London, bringing with it a unique and insightful cultural exhibition. Hosted at luxury Knightsbridge store Harrods, "Inspiring Morocco" will recreate an authentic Riad in store from 24th October until 18th December. The exhibition will showcase the best of the country's art, craftsmanship and cuisine throughout the store, giving visitors a taste of both the traditional and contemporary wonders of Morocco.
Inspiring Morocco will be London's only authentic Moroccan venue where exquisite handicrafts, including kaftans, textiles, leather goods and ceramics, and beautifully handcrafted filigree (copperworks), will be showcased and available for purchase or order.
Moreover, paintings, photography and kaftans from some of the country's most esteemed and up-and-coming artistic talent will be exhibited.
Food lovers can get a taste of Morocco's famed and distinctive cuisine within the store's iconic Food Halls on the Ground Floor, where a handpicked selection of the best Moroccan produce will be available to taste and take home, including exotic spices and delicacies; argan oil; couscous and tagine dishes.
Inspiring Morocco is the first of a number of cultural events that will be organized in the UK throughout 2011 and 2012.
